What is GOST-R Certification?
Since 1993, GOST is the Russian systems of mandatory quality certification for all products produced in and imported to Russia. The purpose of the system is to protect health and safety of Russia's population by excluding potentially hazardous or unsafe products from entering the Russia's commercial space. The registered GOST R sign, a.k.a. Mark of Conformity demonstrates product's compliance with the Russian quality standards. The Certificate of Conformity as well as all other certificates and permits are issued by the respective Russian authorities and governing entities.
An original Certificate of Conformity is required for customs clearance at the Russian border as well as for sale and/or marketing of products in Russia. In addition to GOST-R certificates, other types of certificates and/or permits may apply to certain types of products at different stages of sales transaction, promotion and on-site implementation.
