According to the order of the Government of the Russian Federation of February 17, 2022 No. 280-r, this railway border checkpoint is included in the corresponding list.

A unified electronic visa gives the right to enter and stay in the Russian Federation on a guest or business visit, as a tourist, as well as to participate in scientific, cultural, socio-political, economic, sports events and make relevant connections and contacts.

The list of states whose citizens can enter and leave the Russian Federation through checkpoints in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region on the basis of electronic visas includes more than 50 countries. Including France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Iran, India, China (including Taiwan), Japan, etc.

According to the established procedure, an electronic visa is issued based on the decision of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the application of a foreign citizen, completed on a specialized website, no later than 4 calendar days before the expected date of entry into the Russian Federation for a period of up to 60 calendar days with a permitted period of stay in Russia no more than 16 days.

The list of checkpoints across the state border of the Russian Federation through which you can enter and leave on the basis of an electronic visa (approved by the order of the Government of the Russian Federation of October 23, 2020 No. 2741-r) are mainly airports and automobile checkpoints. Until that time, there were only 5 railway checkpoints – Border, Khasan, Sovetsk, Mamonovo and Makhalino. Now St. Petersburg-Finlyandsky will be added to them.
