The unified electronic visa system for foreigners is ready, its launch will be discussed by the Russian government in 2023. This was announced to TASS on Thursday by State Secretary, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Yevgeny Ivanov. “In principle, it is ready,” the deputy minister said. “The government should have all the reports by June, and perhaps it will be discussed earlier.” The procedure for issuing an electronic visa was approved in 2020, it was planned to launch the system from 2021, but this did not happen due to the situation with the pandemic. This summer, the government lifted the moratorium on the issuance of electronic visas to foreigners, while in fact their issuance has not yet been resumed. It is planned that citizens of 52 states will be able to receive such visas.
