imports to Russia from non-CIS countries in January-August increased to $ 166.61 billion
Imports to Russia from non-CIS countries in January-August 2021 increased by 29.9% compared to the same period last year – to $ 166.61 billion, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of Russia said in a statement.
“According to preliminary data of customs statistics, in January-August 2021, imports of goods from non-CIS countries in value terms amounted to $ 166.610 million and increased by 29.9% compared to the same period in 2020,” the FCS reports.
In August, the value of imports of goods from non-CIS countries amounted to $ 21.789 billion (a decrease in comparison with July by 4%).
At the same time, imports of food products and raw materials for their production decreased by 7.5% and amounted to $ 1.905 billion, engineering products – by 5.5% to $ 11.626 billion, chemical products – by 1.7% to $ 4.007 billion, and textile products and footwear increased by 1%, to 1.438 billion dollars.
In the import of food products and raw materials for their production, the supply of vegetables decreased by 49.9%, fruits and nuts – by 34.5%, sugar – by 24.1%, grain crops – by 13.6%, meat and by-products – by 7%, fish – 6.8%, dairy products – 6.7%, vegetable oil – 1.4%. At the same time, purchases of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 5.2%, tobacco – by 2%.
In the import of engineering products, purchases of ships and floating equipment decreased by 33.9%, aircraft – by 12.9%, optical instruments and apparatus – by 7.3%, land transport – by 6%, mechanical equipment – by 3. 3%, electrical equipment – by 0.6%. Purchases of railway locomotives increased by 8.2%.
In the import of chemical products, purchases of pharmaceutical products decreased by 8.1%, polymers and rubber – by 5%. Supplies of organic and inorganic chemical products increased by 5.1%, soaps and synthetic detergents – by 4.5%, and perfumery and cosmetic products – by 2.6%.
In imports of textiles and footwear, purchases of footwear increased by 12.2%, textile clothing – by 1.1%. At the same time, supplies of cotton decreased by 31.1%, knitted fabric – by 15%, finished textiles – by 12.2%, textile materials – by 11.9%, knitted clothing – by 4.3%, chemical fiber – by 0.6%, chemical threads – by 0.5%.
