The EAEU will establish a simplified procedure for moving containers across the customs border

The proposal to establish a simplified procedure for moving containers across the customs border in the Eurasian Economic Union was considered by the participants of the third meeting of the working group on improving customs regulation in the EAEU. The discussion was chaired by the Minister for Customs Cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission Maksat Mamytkanov on August 11 at the EEC headquarters.

The focus was also on the movement of ships for the carriage of goods and passengers in merchant shipping without entering a port of a state that is not a member of the Union. In addition, the working group discussed the prospects for creating a legal basis for the introduction of the institution of authorized exporters.

On all issues on the agenda, we managed to find mutually acceptable solutions and conceptually agree on further areas of work.

Maksat Mamytkanov thanked the participants for the fruitful work and noted that the expert group will be given instructions for the practical implementation of the decisions.

Systematic work to further improve customs regulation in the Union is provided for in the Strategic Directions for the Development of Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025.
